GameCloud writers Nick Ballantyne and Patrick Waring had been doing a regular podcast-type-show on the now closed Perth Respawn Radio called Hyper-thetical. Far from being over, however, we’re happy to announce that the guys will be bringing Hyper-thetical to GameCloud.net.au every Friday. They’ll still be uploading episodes to their channel like normal, but it’s only on GameCloud that you’ll get an extra written rambling from Paddy or Nick!
What is this strange sounding show about? It’s all kinds of “What if?” questions about gaming, the industry, or really just whatever catches the attention of the hosts. Ever wondered what a dating sim with a crotch attachment might be like? They’ve talked about that. They’ve also argued about whether Solid Snake and Booker DeWitt would make it through “Five Nights at Freddy’s. And if you ever wanted to know what it would be like if EA teamed up with celebrities to create a regular series of GTA/Saints-Row style sandbox games? Well, they’ve got you sordidly covered.
Sure, sometimes they confuse Amy Rose with Sally Acorn, and there was that one time Paddy said “Star Trek” instead of “Star Wars” and didn’t bother to edit in a correction. But they make some funny jokes, swear like turbo-preteens, and have also been maintaining a lovely little YouTube channel where you can puruse every episode they’ve made so far.
