To date there has only been a very minimal amount of information released on Battlefield 4. However, today in Stockholm, DICE are revealing the game to the press for the first time.
Based on information previously released from the studio, most would have expected Battlefield 4 to be powered by an updated version of the Frostbite 2 engine. However, new sources would indicate that Battlefield 4 will in fact be using the brand new Frostbite 3 engine. This means that the game will be packed full of new features and built from the ground up.
There still isn’t a lot of information yet, but some of the new features that have been revealed for Battlefield 4 include a significantly improved destruction feature (building scale destruction), a better lighting system, new animations, and a brand new weather system.
The first leaked screenshots can be seen below. No doubt we can expect more information soon!
