Today at the Playstation Meeting 2013, Blizzard’s Senior Vice President Chris Metzen took to the Sony stage for the first time in history to announce Diablo III for the Playstation 4.
The announcement is part of a “strategic partnership” between Blizzard and Sony Computer Entertainment, Metzen commented. It was also confirmed during the press event that the game will be coming to Playstation 3, which is already running on the current platform and looks fantastic.
It was also announced today that the console version of Diablo III has been thoroughly reworked to suit the platform, including four-player co-op (online & offline), a refined user interface, an intuitive control scheme and a new dynamic camera perspective. The PS3 and PS4 versions of Diablo 3 will be based on the “core experience of the PC version,” Blizzard said in an official announcement.
Blizzard confirmed that Diablo 3 for PlayStation consoles will make it’s next debut at PAX East in March
